Family Art Days - Handsewn Puppets

Bring your young artist to the San Juan Islands Museum of Art for Handsewn Puppets, a free Family Art Days class on Saturday, August 22 from noon to 2:00 PM — the last class of the Summer 2026 series! Led by Alchemy Arts Center guest instructors Sophia Larsen and Emerald Vernon-Lapow, kids ages 5 and up will create simple puppets from scrap fabric while learning basic hand-sewing techniques, with the option to bring special materials from home. Family Art Days is a beloved community program offering hands-on art classes for children to enjoy alongside a parent or supportive adult, with all materials provided by SJIMA. Admission is free and space is limited, so register in advance at sjima.org/familyartdays. SJIMA's Fall 2026 Family Art Days series begins September 26, with the full schedule and registration opening in early September.
