The Art of the Line: An Etching Talk

On Wednesday, July 22, from 4:00–5:30 PM, the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (540 Spring Street, Friday Harbor) hosts "The Art of the Line: An Etching Talk with Meg Partridge & Howie Rosenfeld," a free conversation exploring the centuries-old craft of etching. Meg Partridge, granddaughter of etcher Roi Partridge and curator of the museum's current exhibition featuring his work, will share her grandfather's history with the medium, followed by local printmaker Howie Rosenfeld, who will walk the audience through the etching process using tools and a small portable press. The 4 PM start time was chosen to accommodate inter-island ferry schedules, making it easy for visitors from other islands to attend and still get home that evening. Admission is free with no RSVP or ticket required. Learn more at sjima.org.
