Science Uncorked PNW: Eelgrass Sustains Life in the Salish Sea
Olivia J. Graham, PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cornell University. Conducting field- and lab-based experiments at UW Friday Harbor Labs, she studies the health and resilience of local eelgrass (Zostera marina) meadows in the Salish Sea. She is continually fascinated by these humble—yet remarkable—marine plants, and loves sharing her knowledge about these invaluable habitats with others. In her talk, she will discuss the significance of eelgrass in sustaining coastal ecosystems and her eelgrass health and resilience research based at University of Washington’s Friday Harbor Labs on San Juan Island.
