The Magical Mystery Tour: A Beatles Music Extravaganza!

All shows are at 7 p.m. except for two matinees at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. On Nov. 15, enjoy a special gala dinner and pre-show event!

Orcas Island’s own Rock on the Rock Choir, created by Grace McCune in 2008, has brought to the stage with Jake Perrine, shows such as: Moulin Rouge, Across the Universe, Rock of Orcas, Teatro Titikookoo, Kids Movie Musical, “This is Me,” Cirque Us, and What Dreams May Come. Rock on the Rock is back and bigger than ever with this new Orcas Center production: “Magical Mystery Tour!”

Directed and created by Grace McCune, the show is a re-imagined approach to the songs we all know and love from not only the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour album but also selected songs from the vast anthology of the Beatles repertoire. Featuring original choral and band arrangements written by  McCune, Stormy Hildreth, and Jim Bredouw, this one-act show has an original storyline that follows the life of a young musician named Martha (Martha My Dear) who decides to risk her comfortable life to follow her dream of being a professional musician. Set to the backdrop of the 1960’s-1970’s music scene, Martha is joined by a troupe of “Merry Pranksters” traveling on a Magical Mystery Tour bus that unveils what life is like playing music from town-to-town across America.
