A Waterworks Gallery May Showcase: Graffiti

This May, our gallery will showcase the vibrant power and global voice of street-inspired art in a show that bridges city walls and gallery walls alike.

Join us Friday, May 2 from 4–8 PM during Art Walk for an opening reception full of color, conversation, and community.

Featured artists include:

  • Tyler Bingham (Portland), instagram @halfcirclethreelines, whose mixed media works layer stencils, gestural marks, and personal symbolism to explore themes of identity and transformation. His ongoing mirror study series, initiated in 2022, reflects a deep commitment to self-exploration and artistic growth.
  • PSEKO (planet earth), instagram @pablopsekuno, brings a dynamic fusion of graffiti handstyling/lettering and fine art, creating pieces that resonate with both urban energy and introspective depth.
  • Gui Llemes (Friday Harbor by way of Brazil), instagram @guileemes, whose vibrant murals and illustrations draw from his Brazilian roots and a deep connection to nature and social justice. His work often weaves Indigenous and Black elements, honoring both his own ancestry and broader cultural narratives.

"Graffiti has evolved into a legitimate and powerful form of fine art — it's where urgency meets expression, and where public walls become global conversations," says curator and art historian Jeffrey Deitch.
